Sue`s autumn block is going home

I was the last person in this RR to work on the block. When  I first looked at it I knew what I was going to do to bring it all together.First added the lace with beads and embroidered the dragonfly with metallic thread and beads.

This crochet flower brings the purple from the top down to the bottom, beaded with orange glass beads

This dragonfly is a companion to the one on top that was woven into the fabric

To bring the color from the big butterfly on the lower left corner up I added the satin vine and little turquoise flowers  made out of ribbon with a pearl .

The completed block with work by Alice,Carol,Lisa and myself. I had fun as always with all this wonderful work done by some great ladies.

Roses in peach and purple for Lorrie

Roses, lace flowers and beads surround the little purple fairy with her big smile

Lace flowers where hand painted to match the color theme of peach and purple,a rose cameo was placed ,Glass heart beads complete the seam treatment

Silk ribbon roses ,heart beads and satin leafs

I hand painted the lace and added the beads

The butterfly was a napkin ring made by my friend Doris`s grandma in Germany

All of my work

The whole block with all the work that has been added by Nicki Lee, Ely  and myself.

Lace and Pearls for Nicki Lee

This is just a simple silk ribbon rose with lace leaf appliques and a little stitching with beads.

When I saw the color of the silkie I had to add this butterfly and I also gave this Beauty a necklace.

I had this wonderful antique handmade piece of lace from Germany and it was just perfect for this block, lots of  pearls ,some silk ribbon roses with simple embroidery to stitch the satin trim of leafs. I had to remove some things I had added to leave room for the other Ladies to work on this block,I could so have finished it ,I have to part with it tomorrow and can`t wait to see what will be added to it.

Ruby`s Roses Block

This is the block as I received it.The embroidery is done by Cathy L.,Kathy S. and Meg W. members of the Crazy quilting International group I belong to.

First I had to add some thing on a bigger scale to go with the big pink rose on the left side.It is a applique that I beaded and added a tatted butterfly with pearls.

Now I made my sweet little Silk Ribbon Wild Rose . I wanted it to be very light and just added a few lace flowers.

So here is my work right next to each other.

This is the completed block. When I look at it,I get the feeling of  walking through a wonderful garden and yes you can smell the Roses.

Knitted Socks

This is the last pair of socks for my son. I have new sock yarn he has not seen yet and I will have to hide it when he comes home. I`m sure he will ask me to knit more because he likes to match his socks and ties when he is working televised games for Kansas State University.

My German Flag Block is DONE!

Left side of the block
This is the completed block, I had so much more to put on there but the block was not big enough! It was very hard to let it go, I had only used inspiration from the part of Germany where I`m from. We have lot`s of castle`s,our Dinkelacker brewery in the middle of Stuttgart,Wine is made in almost every little town around the area, every bakery has pretzel`s,The Autobahn with VW Bugs,The Black Forest with the cuckoo clocks and of course the dog had to be included, a German shepherd and don`t over look the gummy bears from Haribo.

Right side of the block.
