I had this wonderful little Peace quiltie in my mailbox on Thursday. With it came two fat quarters and I loved that Tere and I had used the same theme for her work as I did for mine. Thank you Tere H. in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Art4mail Quiltie swap

 This is the front,I used fabric ,wool roving's,lace and organdy trim. felted it all down with my machine, did some machine quilting  and added some simple hand embroidery with beads. The Image of the bird was printed on fabric and ironed on. Size is 6x6 inches finished
 This is the back of the Quiltie,machine embroidered the word piece,stitched down the peace sign which is also printed on fabric.
This is the Quiltie I made to swap. It will go to Judy. The theme is Peace and it is the third in the Fruit of the Spirits Series.

My first attempt of Matchbox Art.First I decided on my color got some felt and used my Felting attachement to work wool roving, yarn and organza ribbon into the felt. A little hand embroidery  and beads sewn on,ironed 2 sided fusible and cut it to size. Then ironed it onto my Matchbox, decided to use some micro beads in green and silver on it ,added my hand made Frog Charm and ready to go.

I`m a member of the Art 4 Mail group and love mini quilts and Quilties. So when the new challenge of a Winter mini quilt came I signed up. I love to combine different textures and materials.On this quilt I used velvet ribbon ,rickrack ,lace trimm and felting with embroidery stitches.
