Frohe Weihnachten Merry Christmas

I`m done for today. Just did the last minute decorating ,putting cookies out and making sure all the gifts are under the tree. This year I only baked Ausstecherle  a German Butter cookie, and Spitzbuben   a cookie dough with ground Hazelnuts stacked together with  raspberry jelly  in the middle . Time to do nothing,no time to do some more knitting to get a few more scarfs  finished this year.

Fabric Postcard

Cherry Blossom`s.

The finished Block.
It is getting colder and I have more time for sewing .No garden work for a few month!Candji`s Asian Block was mailed this morning and I hope she will like it as much as I did mine. When I received it all of the lower half was empty and it was like a having a playground to play on all for myself. First did some simple seam treatments, started my fan and found this printed postcard to add. Still had a little room and decided to put some Cherry Blossoms to fill the space. I do love how it all came together.

Baking my first Madeleins

These are my first Madeleines I baked. The first batch burned and I had to eat them all !Just had to adjust temperature ,bake 10 minutes longer and voila .They are so good,I think they taste even better then I remember. They are like mini pound cake`s with a crunchy side like a butter cookie, easy to make ,measure about 2 inches long and 1 inch high.My Mom use to buy them for weekend afternoon coffee breaks, yes you can`t get the German out of me, I need my coffee and cake.I bought the baking sheet at Bed,Bath and Bejond and it was worth it , got another new baking form yesterday for breads, will have to wait till next weekend to get used. My Kids are asking for Christmas cookies so I will be making some this week.

Decorating for X-Mas

As you can tell I`m a big Jim Shore Fan.

I was still tired and in pain from Fridays shopping. So I took it easy today and decorated only the Dining Room.I had to remove all my plates from the wall above the french doors because tomorrow my contractor will come to put up my curtain rods and 2 new lights for my studio. Hope that they will not make to much of a mess and I can put up my tree tomorrow night.

Black Friday or my lucky day

Oh yes, more pictures of Fridays shopping trip. This is for my new bath room. I just loved the diamond pattern on the little rugs because it will be the design in the tiled shower. And who does not love to buy towels? I was happy with all my purchases.

More Black Friday Shopping

I washed every thing I bought and divided it into little piles. Both of my sons went and are at Kansas State so a lot  of purple for them .

Black Friday Shopping

I was up at 3 am, had coffee and got ready for shopping. No list but somethings in mind for several gifts.I bought 10 bags of different kind of Harribo Gummibears for my sons girlfriend who is in Tokyo till next spring and a little something for her when she gets back.I was lucky to find some shirts & black pants for myself and Jeans for my husband..3 bags of clothing for my boy`s and a few things for my new upstairs bath room that will be remodeled next year. But on the way home I decided to stop at the Furniture Store  and found a Coffee table that has the same straight lines as my TV console and Couch. The Tray top comes of and can be used for hopefully Breakfast in bed as we used to have before we had kids.

CQ embroidery

I love just about anything in  blue and white . My collection of blue & white porcelain is all over our house and my blue fabric stash  seems to have taken over . So when I got Darlene`s blue & white Asian Block in the mail I had no problem working on it. The upper left corner had a larger piece of fabric with feathers printed on it and so I was sure it needed a bird, this is my version of a White Peacock. The eye in the feather is a swarovski crystal and I used white beads to frame it. A little enamel flower ball fin the corner and a small bead with a  silver charm finish my work. On the lower right was a little corner piece just right for the porcelain bird and charm. As always it was fun to see how the block comes together and it will be mailed to the next member to finish it.

More Crazy Quilting

Here they are, my blocks for the next Autumn DYB Round Robin. This time I decided to keep my blocks tone on tone, but use the same fabrics that I have in my first RR blocks.

Small Art Quilts

More curtain rods going up.I love to hang my quilts in this way because it is so easy to change them out if I have to and I do no longer  put hanging sleeves on my quilts.. Here is my first row of small Arts quilts that where made for Challenges in magazines and other groups I belong to.
