Snowballs and more snowballs

This is the lovely snow ball I received today made by Miss Hideko from Japan, I`m just so thrilled that I was able to swap with this accomplished embroiderer. I been eyeing her work for sometime and had always hoped to be in the same RR to get some of Hideko`s work. Now I `m very happy! Love it.

This is my tone on tone in Orange

Yes red and green finished this week.

This is the last one for today. I will swap this one and hope that it will be girly enough for Kristie she loves pink and cream .Now looking at it I think it needs a few more beads. Nicki Lee can you see that beautiful piece of lace in the middle? It just screamed to be on there and I thank you again for sending it to me, as you see it got used for the perfect spot on this snow ball !

My new toy

Not sure yet what will be the first thing I will bake in this but Macaroons sound just wonderful to me.

Something new Kaiserbroetchen

I was looking for a new recipe and this is what I came across at
http://www.chefkoch.de/rezepte/1153991221641997/Kaisersemmeln-Kaiserbroetchen.html

I used 100 grams of spelt flour and baked it for a total of 25 minutes, I also choose to make it 8 rolls and next time will just flatten them a little more. Love the taste and density of the dough, my hubby said oh bake these for our next BBQ for the hamburgers! Why not , they will be fresh and I know whats in them, and I don't mind the extra work,so it will give me something to blog about.

New Fabric book page

 The completed page

The lace on the left side here is from my Mom`s curtains that she had left over, everytime I look at this I remember how many hours we walked from store to store looking for the perfect curtain and lace for her bedroom. I`m not even sure that she still has this curtain.

This bow was on a satin evening dress and it was just the right thing to add to my page.

This is what I have been working on today, it has been a while since I made a page and it was fun to just go and put it together without over thinking and planning it.

Last pair done

This is the last pair of socks that I had to make for the Christmas Sock and Chocolate Gift giving for a mentally ill person in a group home in Germany. These white socks are for Nicole and it was my own design I came up with.

Butter Brioche

Lots of sweet butter was used to make this yeast butter dough for the Brioche. Now that's why I`am not the skinny girl! Done with baking for today, time to rest.

Bretzelsticks

This is what my husband uses to make his sandwich for lunch, they are about 10 inches long.

Today is baking day

First up today is my Bagutte Parisienne, from chefkoch de.com

I made the dough last night and put it in the fridge till this morning , took it out and let it rise for another two hours bake it at 475-480 in  my electric oven. All you need is 400 gr flour, 1 pack of dry yeast and 350 ml lukewarm water and 1/2 tea spoon salt ,I just use the back of a wooden spoon and stirr it all together cover and up in to the fridge, very quick and easy works always .

Kansas Summer Garden Snowball

When I pieced the background I wanted it to be like sunny day in Kansas.I love all the birds in my garden and knew I had to add them in.

Yes we have a lot of sunflowers in Kansas.

You can sit in chair and enjoy the outdoors on a sunny day .

The commpleted snowball just like my backyard with flowers, birds and a little dog to love!

This was a fun snowball to make, I used all the bright colors I like and just went with it. By now it is on it`s way to the new owner and I hope she likes it.

This came in the mail today

My new postcard! I just love her design and use of color.I got this awesome post card from Ms. Frances Holliday Alford .

She does some amazing collage work and I have been luck twice to get a piece of it. We did a Round Robin in 2007 on the Quiltart List and that's how I got my first piece from Ms. Frances
